Aging in Place
- Permit affordable housing projects that are entirely or partially age-restricted 
Rental Units
- Allow small multi-family housing by-right in the downtown urban core and village centers 
- Create design standards to ensure that projects fit the character of Taunton without having to go through the extensive special permit process 
Single-family homes
- Adopt open space design/natural resource protection zoning for subdivisions in order to encourage single-family residential development that has a reduced environmental and fiscal impact 
aFFORDABLE HOUSING
- Reuse abandoned and foreclosed property 
- Repurpose industrial properties, such as old mills, into affordable housing projects 
- Encourage mixed-use development in downtown and village centers with housing on upper-floors
